UNLISTED ISSUE. Similar to the issue struck, as is believed, by Maximinus after his capture of Heraclea (HERACLEA 76), except for altar at feet to l. instead of eagle with wreath in beek. General note from p. 528: "This issue falls into two sections, before and after Maximinus' capture of Heraclea. [...] In the second, Maximinus is seen to have introduced his own range of types, from which both Licinius and Constantine are excluded: Genio Augusti (scarce), Herculi Victori and Soli Invicto (both rare). Date, 313". However, in the footnote 3 on p. 542 Sutherland writes: "VG. [O. Voetter's Gerin Catalogue] Constantine 12 records this type with Constantine's obv. 3c [IMP C FL VAL CONSTANTINVS P F AVG]. It is not in Vienna and must be regarded as very doubtful". This type is now confirmed (see: HERACLEA [after 76], CONSTANTINE, UNLISTED FOR RULER), but it is also clear that type shown here (with altar to l.) exists with obverses of all three Augusti and probably was minted shortly before Maximinus' invasion. Coin should be listed before HERACLEA 73.
