VIRTVTIE-XERCITVS [VIRTVTI EXERCITVS]; Virtus [actually Mars] advancing r. in military dress, r. holding transverse spear, l. shield and trophy over shoulder. Star over Α in right field. SMN in exergue.

REVERSE VARIETY. Mintmark pattern of issue (iii) [star over officina letter in right field], but reverse similar to that from issue (i) [Virtus "r. holding transverse spear" instead of "r. dragging captive by the hair"]. General note about this issue from p. 551: "Virtuti Exercitus, also shared, is rare for all three [Augusti] [...] Date, c. 312 (later)". Coin should be listed after NICOMEDIA 78c.

Weight 4.95 g; diameter 21 mm. Coin sold on Classical Numismatic Group auction in October 2009 for $115.
