REVERSE

PRINCIPIA-IVVENTVTIS [PRINCIPIA IVVENTVTIS]; prince, helmeted, in military dress, stg. r., cloak spread, leaning on reversed vertical spear, hand resting on shield. Crescent in left field. PLN in exergue.

UNLISTED REVERSE TYPE. RIC lists this reverse type for Crispus and Constantine II [LONDON 133-136] (p. 105). For Constantine I another variant of reverse is attested: emperor holding transverse spear and globe. Listed in Bourton Hoard (no. 1454). Variant with emperor is also known for Crispus. Coin should be listed after LONDON 132.
