FL IVLCRISPVSNOBCAES [FL IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES]; bust r., laur., cuir.

REVERSE

PRINCIPIAI-VVENTVTIS [PRINCIPIA IVVENTVTIS]; emperor in military dress stg. r., cloak spread, holding transverse spear and globe. Crescent in left field. PLN in exergue.

UNLISTED REVERSE TYPE. RIC lists this reverse type for Constantine I only [LONDON 132] (p. 105). For Crispus and Constantine II another variant of reverse is attested: prince helmeted and leaning on reversed spear, l. hand resting on shield (see picture 135 on plate 1). Variant with prince is also known for Constantine I (see below). Coin should be listed after LONDON 134.
